Companies that are listed on US stock exchanges and their subsidiaries have to be audited by an auditing company registered at Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). However, there is often a problem for German subsidiaries to have the annual audit carried out by an American company.
Since 26th July 2012 AMC GmbH - Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft has been being one of only 40 German companies registered at PCAOB. Thus AMC GmbH fulfils the strict conditions and requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act from the year 2002 and is able to audit companies publicly traded in the USA and their subsidiaries.
